History

Dunlop Foams is a subsidiary of Pacific Brands Limited (established in 1888), an Australian Public company (www.pacificbrands.com.au).

Like all members of the Dunlop family of companies, its origins go back to John Boyd Dunlop (1840-1921), the inventor of the rubber pneumatic tyre.

The introduction of upholstery foam in Australia goes back to the early 1930s when the Dunlop Perdriau Rubber Company started producing Dunlopillo rubber latex foam.

Dunlop Foams commenced manufacture of prepolymer-based polyurethane foams in Australia and New Zealand in the 1960s, and has always been at the forefront of this technology and product innovation.

Today, Dunlop Foams is Australia’s largest polyurethane flexible slabstock foam producer and the only organisation in the industry with a presence in every State.
